In this presentation, our speaker will talk about the Pesticide Applicator Competency Standards, to ensure that applicator understands safe and effective use of pesticides. The session will emphasize the importance of complying with local and federal pesticide regulations to protect public health and the environment. We will also discuss proper pesticide disposal methods to prevent environmental contamination, particularly of water sources.
Our presenter
Jared Vernon has been the Pesticide Program Assistant Manager for over five years. During his time with UDAF, he has rewritten the Utah Pesticide Control Rule, the Utah State Pesticide Applicator Certification Plan, and other legal documents pertaining to pesticides and their use in Utah. Jared has also overseen the creation of the new and updated Utah Pesticide Category Study Guides. On his days off, you'll find Jared spending time with his family while they hike and explore around Utah, especially down in Capitol Reef and Zion National Park. Jared also enjoys fly fishing, playing the bagpipes, and discovering fun places to eat.
